Our Fees
Immigration Fees
We are committed to transparent, upfront pricing. Below is our fee structure for immigration matters. All fees are quoted exclusive of VAT at 20% unless stated.
How We Charge
We offer fixed fees for the majority of immigration applications. This means you will know the total cost before we begin. Where a matter is unusually complex or requires additional work, we will agree any additional costs with you in writing before proceeding.
Our fixed fees cover all legal work undertaken by us: advising you, preparing and submitting your application, liaising with the Home Office and updating you throughout. They do not include Home Office application fees or the Immigration Health Surcharge, which are payable directly to the government.
Fixed Fee Schedule
The following fees are indicative. The actual fee for your matter will be confirmed in your client care letter following an initial consultation.
| Application Type | Our Fee (exc. VAT) | Typical Timescale |
|---|---|---|
| Visitor Visa | From £500 | 3–8 weeks |
| Spouse / Partner Visa (Entry Clearance) | From £1,500 | 8–24 weeks |
| Spouse / Partner Visa (Leave to Remain) | From £1,500 | 8 weeks |
| Leave to Remain (Other Categories) | From £1,200 | 8 weeks |
| Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) | From £1,500 | 6 months |
| British Citizenship / Naturalisation | From £1,000 | 6 months |
| EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) | From £600 | 4–6 months |
| Student Visa | From £800 | 3–8 weeks |
| Skilled Worker Visa | From £1,000 | 3–8 weeks |
| Family Reunion | From £1,200 | 8–24 weeks |
| Administrative Review | From £800 | 28 days |
| Immigration Appeal (First-Tier Tribunal) | From £2,500 | 6–12 months |
| Asylum Application | By quotation | Varies |
| Deportation / Removal Defence | By quotation | Urgent |
Timescales are estimates only and are largely dependent on Home Office processing times, which are outside our control. We will keep you updated throughout your matter.
Government Fees (Disbursements)
In addition to our legal fees, most immigration applications require the payment of a Home Office application fee and, in many cases, the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS). These are set by the government and are entirely separate from our fees. Current rates include:
| Application Type | Home Office Fee (approx.) |
|---|---|
| Spouse / Partner Visa (Entry Clearance) | £1,846 |
| Leave to Remain / ILR | £1,048 – £2,885 |
| Naturalisation | £1,580 |
| Immigration Health Surcharge (per year) | £1,035 per applicant |
Government fees are subject to change. We will confirm all applicable fees as part of your initial consultation.
Additional Disbursements
- Translation and interpretation fees (where required)
- Courier costs for original documents
- Expert country condition reports (where required for asylum or appeal matters)
- Biometric enrolment fees (set by the government)
VAT
VAT at 20% is chargeable on our professional fees. Government application fees and the IHS are not subject to VAT. We will confirm the full VAT position in your client care letter.
Hourly Rates
For complex or multi-strand matters where a fixed fee is not appropriate, we may charge on an hourly rate basis. Rates will be agreed in advance and confirmed in your client care letter.
| Fee Earner | Hourly Rate (exc. VAT) |
|---|---|
| Senior Solicitor (8+ years PQE) | £350 |
| Solicitor (4+ years PQE) | £250 |
| Other fee earners | £190 |
Payment
We require a payment on account before commencing work. Further staged payments may be required on longer matters. We accept payment by bank transfer. Full payment details will be set out in your client care letter.
Complaints
If you have concerns about our fees or service, please contact us in the first instance. If you remain dissatisfied, you may complain to the Legal Ombudsman at legalombudsman.org.uk or, in cases of professional misconduct, to the Solicitors Regulation Authority at sra.org.uk.
