Authorisation and Regulation

ABN Solicitors is a law firm authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). Our SRA details can be verified on the SRA register at sra.org.uk.

The SRA Standards and Regulations, which govern our professional conduct, are available at sra.org.uk.

Professional Indemnity Insurance

We hold professional indemnity insurance as required by the SRA Indemnity Insurance Rules. Details of our insurer and the territorial coverage of our policy are available on request.

Complaints Procedure

We are committed to providing a high standard of service. If you have any concern or complaint about our services or charges, please contact us in the first instance. We operate a formal complaints procedure:

  • Please write to us setting out the nature of your concern or complaint. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days.
  • We aim to investigate and respond to complaints within 8 weeks.
  • If you remain dissatisfied following our response, you may be able to refer your complaint to the Legal Ombudsman.

The Legal Ombudsman can be contacted at legalombudsman.org.uk or by telephone on 0300 555 0333. There are time limits for bringing a complaint to the Legal Ombudsman — please refer to their website for current limits.

If your complaint relates to our conduct rather than service quality, you may also be able to report this to the SRA.

Anti-Money Laundering

As a regulated law firm, we are subject to the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017. We are required to carry out identity verification and source of funds checks on all clients before commencing work. We may be required to make disclosures to the National Crime Agency in certain circumstances without informing you that a disclosure has been made.
