Our Fees
We believe in complete transparency about costs. Below you will find our fee structure and the terms on which we act.
Fixed Fee Terms
We offer fixed fees for a number of services, which means you will know the full cost in advance. Where we offer a fixed fee, we will confirm the fee in writing before commencing work. Fixed fees cover the work specified — any additional work required will be agreed with you before it is undertaken.
Hourly Rates
For matters not covered by a fixed fee, or where the complexity of a matter makes a fixed fee impractical, we charge on an hourly rate basis. Our current hourly rates are:
| Solicitor Experience | Hourly Rate (exc. VAT) |
|---|---|
| Solicitor with more than 8 years post-qualification experience | £350 |
| Solicitor with more than 4 years post-qualification experience | £250 |
| Other solicitors and fee earners | £190 |
We will always provide you with an estimate of the likely costs before commencing work and will keep you updated if it appears that costs are likely to exceed that estimate.
Disbursements
In addition to our fees, you will be responsible for disbursements — these are payments made to third parties on your behalf. Common disbursements include:
- Home Office application fees (set by the government and outside our control)
- Immigration Health Surcharge (where applicable)
- Tribunal or court fees
- Interpreter and translation fees
- Expert report fees
- Courier and postage costs for original documents
We will always advise you of likely disbursements in advance and will seek your authority before incurring significant third-party costs on your behalf.
VAT
VAT is chargeable on our fees at the current rate of 20%. All fee quotes include a statement of whether VAT is included or additional. Disbursements may or may not be subject to VAT depending on the nature of the payment.
Fixed Fee Schedule
The following services are available on a fixed fee basis:
| Service | Fixed Fee (exc. VAT) |
|---|---|
| Initial Consultation (up to 1 hour) | £350 |
| Statutory Declarations | £200 |
| Document Attestation | £10 per page |
| Power of Attorney | £150 |
| Deed Poll | £100 |
| ID1 Form (verification of identity) | £50 |
Payment Terms
We require payment of an initial payment on account before commencing substantive work. Further payments on account may be required as the matter progresses. We will provide you with a costs estimate and payment schedule at the outset of your matter.
We accept payment by bank transfer. Details will be provided on our client care letter.
Complaints and the Legal Ombudsman
If you have any concerns about our fees or services, please contact us in the first instance. We operate a complaints procedure which is available on request. If you remain dissatisfied, you may be able to complain to the Legal Ombudsman at legalombudsman.org.uk.
